Smithfield Packaging, UFCWI reach deal on contract for pork plant workers

Smithfield Packaging Company and the United Food and Commercial Workers International have reached a tentative agreement on a contract for the 4,500 or so workers at the company’s Tar Heel pork processing facility – the largest pig slaughterhouse in the world.
